David Donald Cole, 84, was reunited with the love of his life on September 11, 2023. His beloved wife of 58 years, Doris Mary (Lessard) Cole, died in 2018, and David spent the last five years talking about how much he was looking forward to seeing her in heaven.  He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

He was born June 26, 1939 in Billerica, Massachusetts to Elmer and Jeanne (Gellinas) Cole. He was the oldest of 3 children. David married Doris on July 23, 1960 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts and they raised 4 daughters.

He had a successful career as a home builder and remodeling contractor in Massachusetts and then moved the family to Georgetown, Texas in 1977 to continue his career in better weather. Dave and Doris retired to Tow, Texas in 2001 where he built their dream house on Lake Buchanan.  He loved to travel (all 50 states), fish/hunt, listen to bluegrass music and make custom knives.  Also, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren was his highest priority. Dave never met a stranger and couldn’t walk past a baby without making funny faces at them.

David is survived by his children: Lisa Danek of Jarrell, Lori Hansen (Jay) of Corsicana, Lynn Cole  (Lori) of Cedar Hill, Leanne Holloway (Blane) of Troy; Grandchildren: Brandon Danek (Mariah) of Jarrell, Christopher Brabandt (Elissa) of Irving, Kim Middleton (Brian) of Godley, Ryan Brabandt (Schylar) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Tiffany Cotto of Dallas, Marissa Parker (Daniel) of Corsicana, Dillon Holloway of Denton, Hannah Holloway-Faulkner (Garrett) of Abilene, Duncan Holloway of Denton; Great Grandchildren: Zadok, Madeline, RC, Camille, Carson and Michael; many nieces and nephews and his Tow “family.” He was preceded in death by wife Doris Cole of Tow, brother Richard Cole of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, sister Shirley Cole of Georgetown and son in-law Richard Danek of Jarrell.

Visitation with the family will be held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, on Saturday, September 23, 2023 between 12 and 1 p.m., with the Memorial Service beginning at 1 p.m..
