It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Evelyn Mueller Wolf, devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, in Georgetown on Tuesday March 19, 2024, at 97 years of age. Born on April 23, 1926, in Walburg, Texas, to Alfred and Emma Vogler Mueller, Evelyn’s life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and faith, qualities she nurtured within her family and shared generously with her community. Her life’s faith journey began with her baptism on May 16, 1926, and ended with her memorial service at St Peter Lutheran Church in Walburg.

Evelyn grew up in fellowship with the man who would become her beloved husband, Kerney Wolf, also a lifelong member of St Peter. The couple married at St. Peter on January 10, 1945. They settled in the Walburg area, laying the foundations of a loving and honorable family life that would bring the joyous additions of two sons, Richard and Mark, instilling in them values of compassion, resilience, and the importance of family. They became faithful men of God, carrying forward the values learned from their parents, eventually to the current generation.

Evelyn’s faith was the guiding light in her life. She was deeply involved in her church community at St. Peter. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, and she served as a model of love and service to all who knew her. She served the Lord in various positions throughout her life, including working with the Ladies’ Aid, leading young minds to know Christ through teaching Sunday School, and always willing to share a fantastic dish at pot-lucks.

Her legacy is the family she leaves behind: daughter-in-law Arlee Wolf, grandchildren Connie Yule (Doug), Amy Wolf, Michael Wolf, David Wolf (Erika), Sarah Wolf (Justin Lewis), nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brother Marvin Mueller (Marjorie), sister Marilyn Schkade, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved church family.

Beyond her family, Evelyn enjoyed her employment at the Walburg State Bank and Dr. Robert Gamble’s Dental Office. However, her heart was always with her home and family, and her role as mother and grandmother was her greatest joy, and she approached it with an unparalleled mix of grace, commitment, and love. When home on their farm, she enjoyed working in her garden and caring for her four-legged “children,” her cattle. Her family has fond memories of her standing at the fence talking to and petting her cows well into her 80s.

The love of her family surrounded Evelyn in her final days, a fitting tribute to a life dedicated to nurturing and cherishing those she loved. Awaiting her heavenly reunion are her beloved husband, Kerney, her sons, Richard and Mark, her daughter-in-law, Laura, her parents, brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Verine, brother-in-law Carl Schkade; and a host of close family members and dear friends.

The family wishes to thank Wesleyan Assisted Living for caring for Evelyn while she lived there and Suncrest Hospice for their unsurpassed dedication to comforting Evelyn and her family in her last few days. A special thanks to Brenda and Dwaine Chlapek and Elaine Sotello for the kindness and selfless compassion shown to Evelyn in her later years. Her memorial service will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Walburg with the Reverend Philip Daniels officiating. Services are Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at St Peter Lutheran Church in Walburg.

As we mourn her passing, we celebrate her remarkable life and the countless memories she has left us. Her journey on earth may have ended, but her legacy of love, faith and family will continue to inspire those who knew her.
