Body

In loving memory of James Dayton Enderlin, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, who touched the hearts of all who knew him. He was born on May 10, 1932, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Henry William and Viola Paula (Olfers) Enderlin. He peacefully passed from this life on September 11, 2023, at home in Cedar Park, Texas, at 91.

James grew up on a farm near Fredericksburg and was a 1949 graduate of Fredericksburg High School.

He loved to play baseball and was a pitcher for the Fredericksburg Giants, a Hill Country League baseball team. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and returned to San Antonio and his job as an electrician upon discharge. He and the love of his life, Cherry Lynn Means, were united in marriage on September 3, 1961, in Fredericksburg. They lived in San Antonio for 7 years, moving to Austin in 1968, and to Cedar Park in 1972. He passed the test to become a Master Electrician and opened his own business, Enderlin Electric, in 1974. He finally retired in 2007 at the age of 75. He was a member of the Local IBEW 520 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). James enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He continued his love for baseball and was an avid fan of the Houston Astros.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenneth Enderlin, and sister, Louise Nebgen. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Cherry Enderlin; daughters Pam (Jearl) Ledbetter, Lisa Stellato, and Sandy (Chris) Kendzior; grandchildren Justin, Kristen, Ryan, Landon, and Trevor Ledbetter, Kayla (Stellato) Moore, and Jordan Stellato, and Jason Kendzior; great-grandchildren Mila, Emerson, Lucas, Nolan, Portland, Josie, and one on the way; sister-in-law Mary Enderlin; brother-in-law James Nebgen; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Maple Ridge Gracious Retirement Living for going above and beyond to make these last few months a little easier. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the caregivers from Loving Ways Caregivers, who provided tender, loving care to James in his last few weeks. With a special thanks to Theresa, who was here when we needed her most.
