Johnny Sullivan Green, age 78, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023.

Johnny was born on July 28, 1945, in Eagle Pass, Texas to John C. Green and Dorothy Sullivan Green of Sanderson, Texas.

Johnny graduated from Eagle Pass High School in 1963.  After graduation he attended Texas Christian University before enlisting in the United States Marine Corp.  He served in the Marines from 1966-1969.  He was stationed in Tennessee, Hawaii and Vietnam as a Crash Crew Firefighter.  His most memorable moment was receiving a Dress Blue Uniform awarded by the Leatherneck magazine to the outstanding recruit in a platoon.  After an Honorable Discharge, he went to Texas A&I University in Kingsville.  He later graduated from Southwest Texas University.

Johnny began his career at Ford Motor Credit in Austin before moving to Georgetown as the Exxon Distributor in 1973.  He retired in 2011 from B&B Body and Paint in Austin.

Johnny was a charter member of the Westside Church of Christ in Round Rock. He was an active volunteer at the Georgetown Police Department and was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2022.  He also worked as a volunteer at UT Bass Concert Hall for 10 years.  Hunting, reading and spending time with family at the beach were among his favorite things.

Johnny met his wife Jan Green while attending Texas A&I in Kingsville.  They were married on June 11, 1971, in Premont, Texas.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents John and Dorothy Green and by his brother-in-law, Ronald Ritchie.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Moya Jan Green, of Georgetown, Texas; daughter Hillary Page Foster, of Cedar Park, Texas; son, John
Green II (Deuce) and his wife Leslie, of Georgetown, Texas; his three granddaughters: Kinsee Tumlinson, Madeline Foster and Bailee Green; his sister, Beth Ritchie, of Burlingame, California; nephew Chris Ritchie and wife Susan of Houston, Texas; niece Rachel Goodrich and her husband Warren, of Burlingame, California.

A visitation for Johnny will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Dr. Georgetown, TX 78628, with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Johnny will be laid to rest at the Georgetown I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
