On May 19, 1877, The Williamson County Sun printed its first issue, a simple four-page broadsheet. Today the Sun, over 145 years old, continues to publish on the Square in Georgetown and is the longest-running business in the county.
In 1974, the Sun added a weekendpaper, TheSunday Sun.
