New art exhibit at Georgetown City Hall

The new art exhibition, The Hill We Climb, at Georgetown City Hall is on display through December and features acrylic and mixed media by Diane Sandlin.

Abstract painter Diane Sandlin’s exhibit, The Hill We Climb, is inspired by Amanda Gorman’s 2021 inaugural poem of the same name. The cadence, energy and imagery of that poem are created in the mixed media centerpiece of the exhibit, a large artwork full of color, texture and contrasts with shapes building upon shapes as if climbing ever- upward. The six other paintings hold the spirit of the overall theme with use of energetic lines, movement and shapes hinting of growth and universal aspirations.

Papi’s Pies

October’s art at Papi’s Pies in Round Rock is by Jennifer and Judy Conroy, a mother-daughter duo who share paintings from their adventures near and far. The new art pairs perfectly with the cool weather and tea for two in the garden.

Papi’s Pies is artist-owned. The restaurant shares the walls with artists and solo art exhibits on a
