Scenes of the holiday season come to Mulligan’s gallery
ART SCAPES
Both Mulligan’s galleries will offer holiday scenes starting November 29 that will remain on display until January 2.
The Dine-In Gallery will feature local images from Wes Odell “Christmas After The Rain On The Square,” John Leek “The Heritage Church,” and “A Majestic Oak of Georgetown Square.” Glenn Rudd provided a night image from the Gaylord Hotel and Resort in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Patio Gallery with large prints will continue with the local Christmas theme and a nostalgic reminder that occasionally the area experiences a white Christmas. These images are provided by John Leek featuring Gumbos on the Square, the Georgetown courthouse and the Legacy Hills Club House cloaked in a wintery blanket of snow.
Thanks to Mulligans, these photographers are wishing everyone a joyous and calm holiday season through the beautiful images. It is open 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Small Works
“Small Works” 2022 is on display now at the Georgetown Art Center. As the exhibit’s title implies, the artworks are small, no more than 12 inches on any side.
Entries in this exhibit faced a two-tiered jury, first by the GAC Exhibits Committee and a final nod by Amanda Still, Georgetown arts and culture coordinator.
The variety of techniques and talents on display include:
• 2-D representational and 2-D abstract painting, watercolor, encaustic, acrylic, oil, mixed media, textiles, collage, gouache, ink, graphite, pastel and hand-pulled printmaking with no reproductions or giclées.
• 3-D weighing no more than 4 pounds in ceramics, sculpture, assemblage, wood, metal and mixed media.
• Original camera-generated images, computer-enhanced digital images, digital collage or montage, and digital and graphic design.
The Art Center is located at 816 South Main Street in the downtown historic district. It is free and open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday from 1-5 p.m. and closed on Mondays. Visit georgetownartcentertx.org to become a member and enjoy all the perks.
