The Williamson County Livestock Show is an annual event at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor. The event began this Sunday, December 4, and runs through the week.

Tree of Angels returns for 10th year in Wilco

Williamson County will hold their 10th Tree of Angels Ceremony at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, at the historic courthouse, 710 South Main Street. This ceremony is a special memorial to the victims of violent crime and their families.

Granger weather radar to be down beginning November 29

The KGRK WSR-88D radar, operated in Granger by the National Weather Service, will be down for approximately seven days beginning November 29. Meteorologist Tom Bradshaw said the shutdown is necessary to replace the station’s generator, fuel tanks and accompanying components.

The annual Kolache Bake at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger was held November 19. Now in its 60th year, church members prepared 350 dozen kolaches, some of the helpers beginning as early as 4 a.m. that morning.

Wilco Homeless Coalition to conduct point-in-time count

Attempting to identify the number of people experiencing homelessness in Williamson County, the Wilco Homeless Coalition will conduct its second point-in-time count this winter. The volunteer-led count is scheduled to take place in late-January.

Wilco burn ban lifted

In the wake of the recent storms, County Judge Bill Gravell lifted the county’s burn ban on Friday, October 28. The ban was put in place 10 days prior on October 18 because of extended dry conditions. “Due to the recent rains and cooler weather, I am lifting the burn ban,” Mr.
