East View stage performances December 1-3
East View High School’s The Character Company will present a back-to-back duo of shows December 1-3. A Holiday To Remember December 1-3
The Georgetown High School Show Choir will present its annual production of A Holiday to Remember at The Klett Center for the Performing Arts. The show will run December 1-3, beginning at 7 p.m. each evening. Tickets are available at the door and cost $5 per student and $10 per adult.
Holiday Home Tour December 2-4
The Kiwanis Club of Sun City Georgetown has opened ticket sales for their annual Holiday Home Tour. Five Sun City homes will be decked out in Christmas and holiday garb by homeowners and professional decorators. The glamping portion of the tour returns again this year, with upscale camping accommodations displayed by Sisters on the Fly, an outdoor adventure group for women. Proceeds from the home tours go toward Kiwanis Club programs. Tours take place over three days: 3-6 p.m., December 2; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., December 3; and from noon to 4 p.m., December 4.
Light up the Lake December 2-3
Round Rock’s annual Light Up the Lake holiday festival starts at 6 p.m. December 2-3 at Old Settlers Park. The event features live music, light shows, holiday displays, food, activities and giant balloons. www.roundrocktexas.gov/lightupthelake
Christmas Toy Drive Cruise-In December 3 Stephanie Nichols’ Christmas Toy Drive Cruise-In will come to East View High School, 4490 East University Avenue, from 1:30-4 p.m. on Saturday, December 3. Proceeds from the event benefit automotive education programs in Georgetown ISD. Guests are asked to consider bringing an unwrapped toy donation for the Georgetown Police Department’s Blue Santa program. Old Town Christmas December 3
Shop, dance, sing and eat all day at Leander’s Old Town Christmas Festival from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on December 3. Very Merry Holiday Celebration December 3, 7 p.m.
The City of Taylor will host its official holiday parade at 7 p.m. on Main Street between 12th and Third streets, and then down Third Street to Vance. ROCK Carriage Rides December 8-18
Back again this year, visitors to the Square in December can enjoy a ride in an illuminated carriage pulled by a snow-white horse. Carriage rides are a winter program of Ride on Center for Kids using Fantasia Carriage. Tickets will go on sale through ROCK in November. This event sold out last year at 62 rides. The dates available are December 8,9,15, 16, 17 and 18.
Sara Hickman at Lark & Owl December 9, 7 p.m.
Musician Sara Hickman is bringing holiday cheer to Georgetown with a sing-along at Lark & Owl Booksellers. The ticketed event takes place at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 9, at the bookstore, 205 West Sixth Street in Georgetown. Texas native Sara Hickman is a folk singer/songwriter who creates music for adults and children alike. A Christmas Carol December 10-18
The Way Off Broadway Community Players will present their annual Christmas show, A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. The show will run 7:30 p.m. on December 10, 16 and 17, with matinees at 3 p.m. on December 11,17 and 18 at the Leander Activity Center, 690A North Bagdad Road, Leander. Preservation Georgetown Home Tour December 10-11
Preservation Georgetown’s Holiday Home Tour tickets are on sale for tours December 10 and 11. The hours for the tour are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The five historic Georgetown homes on this year’s tour are located on East University, South Myrtle and South College. They provide outreach to help make Christmas special for selected kids and families in the community by serving breakfast. This year, the Georgetown Fire Department will fire up the griddles to cook pancakes and sausage from 6:30-11:30 a.m. on December 17 at the San Gabriel Community Center.
Holiday philharmonic concert December 18
Austin-based choral group Panoramic Voices will collaborate with the Central Texas Philharmonic for a holiday concert in December, featuring traditional carols with a twist, some holiday hits and choral favorites. www.centraltexasphilharmonic.org
Hype for the Holidays Teen Party December 18
Georgetown Parks and Recreation hosts its annual “Hype for the Holidays Teen Party” for teenagers ages 12-15 on Friday, December 16, at the Georgetown Recreation Center, 1003 North Austin Avenue. The party is from 1:15-4:30 p.m. and will include pizza, drinks, snacks, video games, a basketball shootout, music, door prizes and more.
