Four-proposition GISD bond totaling $649.5 million to come to voters in May 4 election

Georgetown ISD trustees unanimously voted February 12 to hold a school bond election on Saturday, May 4. Spread across four proposals, the bond package totals $649.5 million, which, if approved, would result in a one-cent tax increase per $100 property valuation.

New ownership, same Texas Traditions Roofing

Texas Traditions Roofing was started in August of 2014 by Mike Pickel and his brother-in-law Gary Emory. The award-winning roofing company does both residential and commercial work. In January, ownership shifted to Mr. Pickel’s son, Micheal, and Bryan Chisholm.

Are you faster than a Tchida? Georgetown’s Chase the Chief, an initiative from the Georgetown Police Department that benefits Georgetown schools is scheduled for March 3 at the East View High School Football Field.

Georgetown Chamber of Commerce highlights citizen efforts with awards banquet

Georgetown’s Chamber of Commerce began the month of February by celebrating its members through the organization’s Annual Awards Banquet.

GISD committee recommends $649.5 million bond

The citizens group studying Georgetown ISD’s current and future facility needs has recommended trustees place a $649,501,678 bond on the May 4 ballot. Representatives of the 80-member Citizens Advisory Council made their recommendation to district trustees at the district’s February 5 workshop.
