Williamson County, Georgetown observe Labor Day

Williamson County and Georgetown offices will be closed on Monday, September 4, in observance of Labor Day.  Offices will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, September 5, according to the press release.

Bricks salvaged from Jarrell ISD’s 1916 Building are getting a second life as workers began installing them last week on the outside of the district’s new community space, designed as a replica of the original school building.

64 acres released from Georgetown ETJ

Approximately 64 acres were released from the southeastern part of Georgetown’s extraterritorial jurisdiction on Tuesday. Properties in the ETJ are outside of the city limits and do not pay city taxes, but are subject to some city regulations and may receive city services when available.

In an effort to prevent certain areas from leaving the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction in the future, Georgetown City Council approved four new industrial districts on first reading at their August 8 meeting.

Stone Oak Ranch RV Resort’s new owners seek to expand

The Stone Oak Ranch RV Resort in far western Georgetown will be expanded to 424 spaces, and will add new amenities like a beer garden and an additional pool. Stone Oak Ranch RV Resort originally opened in October 2020 at 25101 Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

Ordinance adopting 2024 budget approved

The Georgetown City Council adopted an $868 million budget for Fiscal Year 2024 on first reading August 22. A second and final vote is scheduled for September 12, where the tax rate will also be heard and adopted formally.  The 2023-24 budget anticipates $97.59 million in revenue, a 9.

City council reviews pedestrian bridge designs for Austin Avenue bridge

The Georgetown City Council was presented with the three final bridge design ideas for the Austin Avenue pedestrian bridge that will help connect downtown to other parts of the city and enhance the San Gabriel River greenbelt areas.
