Winter storm ices Williamson County, but leaves minimal damage

Following rain, wind and a hard freeze from Winter Storm Fern this weekend, Williamson County is expected to bounce back to normal by the end of the day Tuesday, January 27.

First democratic primary debate between U.S. Senate candidates held in Georgetown

The two highest profile Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate — Jasmine Crockett and James Talarico — participated in a debate Saturday, January 24, in Georgetown.

Georgetown takes to Square to protest administration

A little more than 50 residents marched around the Square Tuesday afternoon as part of a “National Walkout” protest, marking the one-year anniversary of President Donald Trump’s second term.

The purple shows the commercial buildings toward the front, with the yellow residential being behind it. The light green shows private common spaces and the dark green shows public common spaces. New 85-acre subdivision in north Georgetown has eight housing options

Georgetown City Council unanimously approved the rezoning of approximately 85 acres from agricultural to a Planned Unit Development with base zonings of low-density multi-family and general commercial, bringing up to 425 units with a minimum of three different housing styles.

County Briefs: Justice Complex Project open house on the way

Williamson County will hold a public information session about the Justice Complex Project on Tuesday, March 3 at the EMS North Campus, 3189 S.E. Inner Loop, in Georgetown, from 5-7 p.m. The meeting is a come-and-go event with no formal presentation.

Cops vs. Grannies: Texas Fire Ants face Georgetown Police in charity game

The Texas Fire Ants, a Granny Basketball team, played a charity game against the Georgetown Police Department at East View High School on Saturday, January 17.  The game, won by the Fire Ants with a final score of 55-47,  benefited the Carver Center for Families.
