Enjoy Disney’s ‘Frozen’ this winter on the Palace stage

The Georgetown Palace Theatre opened Disney’s Frozen November 21 on the historic Springer stage under the direction of Dr. Kristen Rogers.“For the first time in forever, experience the musical phenomenon that has taken the world by storm,” Palace promotions state.

Galaxy Bakery offers elevated desserts

It’s natural to develop a sweet tooth every year during the holiday season, and Galaxy Bakery just off the Square is an easy remedy. Owned by Georgetown’s Ike Thorpe, Galaxy Bakery opened in 2013 and offers cupcakes, cookies, pastries and coffee drinks.

Bakery serves crisp, chewy cookies

Cookie lovers now have one more option to explore in Georgetown. Crisp & Chew cookie bakery will open a retail pickup shop at 1612 Williams Drive, northwest of Rivery Boulevard. Georgetown City Council granted a rezoning request for the project in October.

Downtown parking garage opens, adds 315 spaces

Georgetown’s first city parking garage — located at the corner of Main Street and Sixth Street — opened to the public on November 21, bringing more than 300 additional parking spaces to the Square.

Williamson County forms group to bolster long-term water supply

Williamson County officials officially launched what they say will be a long-term water solution for the region. County commissioners allocated $500,000 for a Williamson County Water Study on November 25. The goal, according to the agenda, is to have a water solution in place for the next 50 years.

Nonprofits combat hunger across Wilco ahead of holidays

Residents, developer butt heads over wastewater plant

For nine months, Georgetown resident Danette Ray has been raising awareness about a wastewater package plant that is planned near her property off State Highway 29 next to the San Gabriel River.

Sun City deer culling vote paused due to litigation

A vote by the Sun City Board of Directors — which was supposed to take place on November 20 to determine whether or not to cull the deer in the neighborhood — was delayed because of a lawsuit filed on November 13 against the development’s Community Association and Texas Parks and Wildlife.
