Georgetown residence subject of bomb threat

At about 11:30 a.m. on March 5, the Georgetown Police Department responded to a bomb threat in the 100 block of Retreat Place, which is near the International Order of Odd Fellows cemetery. By 12:01 p.m. the scene had been cleared of any threats and the area was reopened to the public.

It was a busy-eyed day at San Gabriel Park this past Tuesday, when the Georgetown Public Library and Georgetown Parks and Recreation celebrated the opening of our first permanent storywalk. Bubbles and snacks preceded the dedication and ribbon cutting. You may be wondering, what is a storywalk?

Williamson County sues Cameron County Housing Finance Corporation to block tax exempt projects

In response to what Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell called “one of the most egregious acts against the children of Williamson County,” Wilco has sued Cameron County Housing Finance Corporation for allegedly violating the Texas Housing Finance Corporations Act.

Slew of traffic light projects underway in Georgetown

Three new traffic lights along Ronald Reagan Boulevard are in various stages of completion. The traffic light at the Ronald Reagan and Sun City Boulevard intersection will be updated by the city. The intersection is also part of Williamson County’s Ronald Reagan Boulevard Widening project.

Fire department strives to reduce response times
