Williamson County justice personnel earn state certifications

Members of the Williamson County judiciary and legal staff have gained board certifications from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Williamson County housing market indicates buyer momentum

The Central Texas real estate market is showing signs of steady prices, ample inventory and renewed buyer momentum, according to a new report from the Austin Board of Realtors.

Flood funding: Williamson County to add new flood warning systems

The Williamson County Commissioners Court entered into an agreement with the Texas Water Development Board for flood warning systems, with the opportunity to apply for a $1 million grant.

Central Texas blood bank expanding services

We Are Blood — a regional nonprofit blood center that organizes donation drives throughout Central Texas — this month announced the launch of Every Drop Counts, a multi-year plan designed to support and grow patient care to meet the challenges of the region through 2030.

Hutto Parks & Recreation Trout Derby

The Hutto Parks & Recreation Trout Derby was held at Adam Orgain Park on Saturday, January 31, 2026.  Texas Parks & Wildlife stocked the pond with 1225 rainbow trout for this free event.  Originally scheduled for a morning time, the event was moved to the afternoon because of cold weather.

Follow the light: Nighttime offers refreshing light

Most of my daily walks in Taylor lead through Bull Branch Park, a scenic place adorned with cypress trees, ducks, geese, turtles, egrets, herons and squirrels. A stream, Bull Branch Creek, courses through the park, forming a pond before meandering south, toward Murphy Park.

Voters should expect precinct-level polling places on election day

Residents who plan on voting during March’s primary election will face different rules depending on if they plan to vote early or on election day. Williamson County’s Republican Party has decided to require precinct-level voting on Election Day, March 3.

Winter storm ices Williamson County, but leaves minimal damage

Following rain, wind and a hard freeze from Winter Storm Fern this weekend, Williamson County is expected to bounce back to normal by the end of the day Tuesday, January 27.
