Elections Office adds new position to handle rise in public Information requests

The Williamson County Elections Department is falling behind on completing public information requests, and will hire a new coordinator to help address the increased number of requests made in recent years.

2027 County Budget: Williamson County departments ask for personnel

Williamson County department heads are requesting more than 100 new employees be added to the county’s 2027 fiscal year budget. Which positions, if any, are filled, however, remains up in the air.

Appraisal district mails 2026 notices, market snapshot

Property owners should receive this year’s appraisal notice in the mail this month. The Williamson Central Appraisal District mailed out 285,118 property appraisal notices on March 31.

Child Abuse Awareness Month

April is National Child Abuse Awareness Month. As part of the growing need, two children’s advocacy organizations hosted events to start the month. CASA of WilcoCourt Appointed Special Advocates of Williamson County celebrated the opening and dedication of the nonprofit’s new training room.

Williamson County state rep proposes primary election bill

Because of the voting confusion seen in Williamson County during March’s primary, State Representative John Bucy –  an Austin Democrat who represents South Williamson County – announced legislation to address how primary elections are organized.
