The Texas Legislature is considering shutting down Bartlett State Jail in north Williamson County. While few Bartlett residents work at the jail, the city brought in $44,000 a month last year from water and wastewater usage. Sun Archive.
Planted on the southwest side of the City of Bartlett, sits the Bartlett State Jail. The 139,736-square-foot facility used to house convicted state felons from 1995 until it closed in June 2017.
