Melissa Scott is Georgetown's Red Poppy Festival poster winner

Freelance artist Melissa Scott is the 2025 Red Poppy Festival poster art winner with “Popp’n Poppy.”

She “combined spray paint, acrylic markers and layered values to create a one-of-a-kind, edgy piece with old-school charm,” she said in explaining her process.

Based in Leander, Ms. Scott has worked with DreamWorks, Wild Goat Animation and the Indianapolis Zoo. She’s the head of story on an animated short film and teaches at Cordovan Art School in Cedar Park. Look for her inspiration coming to downtown light poles, t-shirts, posters and more.
