    For National Night Out, the Florence Police Department hosted a carnival-style community event Tuesday, Oct. 7, featuring more than 10 public service agencies, including the Texas Department of Transportation, Texas Game Wardens, the National Guard and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

    The event took place from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Florence High School parking lot, where local businesses, organizations and churches provided entertainment for residents. It marked the department’s first large-scale community event and the largest National Night Out gathering in Williamson County.
