Williamson County honors longtime employee

The Commissioners Court honored Peggy Vasquez for her 31 years of working for the county attorney’s office.

Ms. Vasquez began her career in 1993, according to a resolution read by commissions. In that time, she “has served on the Texas District and County Attorney Association’s Key Personnel Board improving prosecution on a statewide level and in 2015 was inducted into the Crime Victim Rights Wall of Fame for her service to victims of crime in Williamson County.”

“Peggy has touched so much of the county employees, both throughout the years and current ones here,” County Attorney Dee Hodds said. “I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have a warm sentiment for Peggy."

Holiday proclamation

During the December 19 Commissioners Court meeting, the commissioners voted to approve a proclamation honoring the holiday season.

The document reads, “this holiday season encompasses Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Bodhi Day, Feast Day of Our Lady Guadalupe, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, and so many more celebrations that humans across our planet embrace with hope and joy; NOW THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED, that the Williamson County Commissioners Court wishes everyone a delightful and safe holiday season; and BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED, that working towards peace, cooperation, and understanding begins with each of us, as we move into 2024.”
