Williamson County Accountant Deanna Vaters stands with her Buc-ee's Gingerbread house in the County Tax Assessor’s office. She began preparing for the project in September. The display took her three days to build.
he gingerbread display is based on the Buc-ee's station in Bastrop. Made from cardboard from the office, this display is one of her favorites because of the challenge to make Buc-ee’s a Christmas village.
The people shown are fellow employees at the Tax Office. Most of the time, Ms. Vaters keeps the project idea secret until building day. Last year, Ms. Vaters made a replica of the Williamson County Courthouse for the display.
