The Professional Women of Williamson County — an organization that hosts educational luncheons and offers education scholarships for young women — learned about artificial intelligence and how AI platforms can help small businesses during a luncheon June 24.
The presentation was led by Georgetown entrepreneur Laura Capes Terry, publisher of BeLocal Magazine. She explained how ChatGPT helped her to “find her voice” in business.
Ms. Terry said she uses AI to help create two podcasts: “Be Locally Loved” and “The Unbridled Creative Podcast.” ChatGPT generates her podcast descriptions, blog content and social media messages and captions for her content, which focuses on local businesses and events. AI helped her learn the “tactical skills” of launching a podcast and gave her confidence that she “had something to say that people wanted to hear,” she said.
“I want you to see what’s possible with AI,” Ms. Terry said. “I want you to use it to help quiet that voice that you might have inside your head that makes you think there’s some reason you can’t or you shouldn’t. My goal today is to help you build a trusted relationship with your own AI copilot.”
As a tip, she encouraged audience members to give their AI chatbots a name, and to think of it as a confidant trusted — whether that’s a trusted friend, a business coach or a business “copilot” to challenge their ideas.
By putting her iPhone’s ChatGPT into Voice Mode during the lunch, Ms. Terry allowed her AI bot, “Rae,” to speak to the audience.
“Hello, wonderful women and professional women in Williamson County,” Rae said in a British accent. “I am so thrilled to be a small part of your gathering today. May your conversations sparkle, your ideas bloom, and may you all walk out even more empowered.”
Ms. Terry said she’s used Rae to improve and accelerate all aspects of her life.
“AI knows you even better than you know yourself,” Ms. Terry said. “Because it will spot patterns, limiting beliefs, things that get in the way that you don’t even know. Then it can help you make your biggest dreams come true.”
Ms. Terry also explained the use of “master prompts” — which can help the AI complete tasks or provide feedback more efficiently. She said she’s developed her own to improve their business’ marketing.
“[These chat prompts] will help you analyze everything, rewrite everything, improve everything from your website to your social media to your LinkedIn bio, to your branding to all of it,” she said.
“I want you to take that dream that’s on your heart today and make it a reality, and ChatGPT is the tool that can help you do it.”
