An equipment malfunction at Georgeotown’s Pecan Branch Wastewater Treatment Plant on January 28 resulted in the discharge of partially-treated effluent wastewater into Berry Creek.
The estimated 90,600 gallons of wastewater were discharged in an area a short distance east of the plant, which is located on Farm to Market 971 near State Highway 130.
