Georgetown High School basketball programs strengthen community bonds through service initiative
Among the young athletes' many ways of helping Sun City residents were washing dogs and windows, planting flowers, weeding flower beds and pruning shrubs. The teams' service initiative is called "Helping Hands."
Members of the Georgetown High School girls' and boys' basketball teams and Sun City residents enjoyed an ice cream social at the Oaks Pro Shop at Legacy Hills Golf Course after helping with household chores.
The Georgetown High School boys' and girls' basketball programs recently gave back to one of their most loyal fan bases through a community service initiative.
On June 23, more than three dozen student-athletes partnered with Sun City residents to assist with household projects while building meaningful relationships extending beyond the basketball court.
