Georgetown ISD trustees say ‘no’ to school-sponsored prayer, religious study

Georgetown ISD trustees, at their February 17 meeting, unanimously turned down a chance to begin offering school-sponsored prayer and religious study during the school day.

The board’s 5-0 resolution affirmed the district’s existing policies regarding religious expression during the school day. James Scherer and Cody Hirt were not present at the meeting.
