Georgetown releases name of subject who was shot by police on the Square Saturday
Had been booked earlier in the day but released from jail
Timothy Visa Xayyaraj was arrested on August 29 for “attempting to take a weapon from an officer," but was later released. Shortly after, police were called to The Square about a disturbance. Xayyaraj confronted police, who fatally shot him after he attempted to grab an officer’s gun out of its holster, according to Georgetown Police.
The Georgetown Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place outside on the 100 block of Seventh Street on the Square on Saturday afternoon, August 29.
