New Georgetown policy could reduce water rate increases

Aims to ease rising bill costs

Georgetown City Council gave city staff the go-ahead to set a new policy about how water rates could be adopted in the future. 

The goal is to create a smoother transition in water rate changes – compared to sudden rate hikes — as the city looks to add new water sources by 2030, according to Chief Financial Officer Leigh Wallace.
