VFW announces scholarship winners in annual essay contests

  • Georgetown High School sophomore Joseph Bustos accepts his $1,000 scholarship prize from Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8587 Commander John McLeskey and Victoria Wren, from the Post’s Auxiliary. Joseph’s recorded essay in the VFW’s Voice of Democracy competition was selected over 20 other entries and went on to win second-place at the five-county district level.
