Georgetown resident inducted in Tejano R.O.O.T.S Hall of Fame for music career
Georgetown resident Johnny Joe Leal, left, is inducted to the Tejano R.O.O.T.S Hall of Fame earlier this month. Mr. Leal was one of four guitarists inducted under the Million Dollar Band, Guitar Player category.
The Royal Six, one of the Tejano bands Mr. Leal played with during his 20 year music career.
For roughly 20 years, Georgetown resident Johnny Joe Leal toured the United States as a guitarist, playing for musicians including Freda Payne and Al Green at the beginning of their careers, as well as Tejano bands such as The Royal Six and Ash Wednesday.
