Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Walkers leave the start area as they take part in Saturday’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s held at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
Approximately 400 participants took part in the walks of either one mile or 2.5 miles.

Eighth grade math teacher Chasity Hawthorne, center, and principal Alma Ramirez, right, were part of a large group of walkers from Pflugerville’s Westview Middle School Saturday who traveled to Round Rock for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Odessa Rice, director of nursing at Arden Courts of Austin, which specializes in memory care and Alzheimer’s, led a group
called Team Tripp. The team honors Tripp Owen, who died after suffering with Alzheimer’s.
