Brass Peacock speakeasy opens near City Post Chophouse

A new prohibition-era themed bar with a secret entrance is hiding near City Post Chophouse, just off the Square.Brass Peacock had a soft opening this fall, and is set for a grand opening early in 2025.

Homeless advocacy group holds service

The Wilco Homeless Coalition in late December held its first annual vigil for the Williamson County Homeless Persons Memorial.The event remembered those who have died while experiencing homelessness. Members of the Wilco Homeless Coalition gathered near the Volunteer Serving Center in Round Rock.

Williamson County Judges re-appoint administrative district judge

District judges serving Williamson County have re-elected Betsy Lambeth, judge of the 425th Judicial District Court, as their local administrative district judge for another two years. She has served as Wilco’s local administrative district judge since 2016.

Georgetown council contracts more water for city

Georgetown has secured a new potable water supply to serve future residents. City council Monday, December 30, entered into a contract with utility company GateHouse Water, LLC that would bring 18,500 acre-feet per year – about 16.5 million gallons per day – from the Simsboro Aquifer to Georgetown.
