School is back in session for Georgetown ISD

Williamson County Commissioners deliberate death investigator role in budget workshop

  For the second week in a row, Williamson County budget talks August 13 greatly focused on a request from Wilco’s four justices of the peace, who have asked for support to alleviate the growing demand that death inquests put on their offices.

The first day of school for Georgetown ISD is August 15, meaning school zones will be in effect during drop-off and pick-up hours. As students return to school, the Georgetown Police Department will be monitoring school zones throughout the city.

Just three days before the start of a new school year, a new location and new building for Benold Middle school were celebrated Monday, August 12, with fanfare and a ribbon-cutting.

Police urge caution in school zones

The first day of classes for schools in Georgetown ISD is Thursday, August 15, and the Georgetown Police Department reminds drivers to slow down in school zones. As students go back to school, police will be monitoring school zones throughout the city.

Largest building project in Southwestern University’s history underway

Southwestern University, Texas’ first liberal arts institution of higher education, is well underway with its largest-ever building project. The comprehensive campaign — Thrive: The Campaign for Southwestern University — is adding  $150 million in new and renovated buildings.

Kelley Proust displays leaf art at the library

vacation scenes. Her exhibit title is “Fallen” and will be on display from August 13 to September 26. The reception in her honor is 4-6 p.m., August 16 in the Cafe Gallery. “The ‘Waterfall’ leaf captures a good rain storm on the Running Brushy Hiking Trail,” she said.
