Williamson County could add 1 million people by 2060

While Williamson County has experienced obvious growth over the past 10 years, a new report shows it may triple in size by 2060. According to estimates by the Texas Demographics Center, Williamson County will reach a population of 1.

Unemployment rates rise in Williamson County, Central Texas

The Texas Workforce Commission released updated unemployment numbers for Central Texas counties for May 2023.  In April, unemployment in Williamson County was 3.2 percent. In May, unemployment in the area increased to 3.5 percent.  The average unemployment rate for the Central Texas region is 3.

Williamson County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo takes center stage in Jarrell

Wilco and YMCA opens bridge at Twin Lakes Park

Williamson County and the YMCA of Central Texas hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the Twin Lake Park Pedestrian Bridge in Cedar Park June 20. The Twin Lakes YMCA is located at 204 East Little Elm Trail.    The 300-foot bridge connects the 50-acre YMCA property to the 6.

Georgetown Costco to open July 14

Four years after Georgetown City Council approved initial plans to build a Costco at the northwest corner of Interstate 35 and Lakeway Drive, the membership warehouses store will open on July 14.
