The City of Georgetown received $4 million in federal funding to help expand Farm to Market Road 971, a project the city has been eying for some time.

How to handle tree debris, pickups in Georgetown and across Wilco cities

Two extra tree disposal services are being offered to Georgetown residents later this month to assist in removing fallen branches and tree debris following the ice storm.
Special services being provided by the city include a curbside pick up beginning on Monday, February 27, for tree limbs.

Community, Georgetown council members cleans up after ice storm

Despite foggy skies and chilly temperatures, more than 50 volunteers gathered at the Berry Creek Racquet Club, 449 Champions Drive, Saturday morning to help neighbors cut and break down branches hanging from trees damaged by last week’s winter storm.

Average cost of gas rises within Wilco, state to start February

Gas prices are rising throughout the state. According to the American Automobile Association, the average per gallon price for regular unleaded gas in Texas hit $3.13 on February 1. That’s roughly 29 cents more than the average recorded in January and 10 cents more than recorded on February 1, 2021.

Southwestern University honors Georgetown residents as exemplary staff members

Southwestern University honored two Georgetown residents, John Dixon and Jenifer Spiller, for their service to the university as Southwestern staff members. They were awarded the 2022 Mundy Awards for Exemplary Service.
