Suspect charged with capital murder in Sun City double homicide

Justice Marquez Washington, who was a person of interest in a December 5 double homicide and house fire in Sun City on Pipe Creek Lane, has been arrested for the offense of capital murder of James William Yost, 76, and Kenneth Michael Wade Clanton, 33. Mr. Yost and Mr.

Exterior work on Williamson County’s new administration building at the corner of Southwestern Boulevard and Southeast Inner Loop has been completed.County officials announced December 22 that the “dry-in phase” — including windows, doors and roofing — has been finished.

The Florence Police Department is looking for 31-year-old Simarre Harris-Brunson, who fled from police and escaped on foot after a traffic crash near Shell Road and Highway 195 on December 24.

Georgetown library card fees to rise for nonresidents

Starting January 1, Georgetown Public Library card annual fees for those who live outside Georgetown’s city limits will increase.Nonresident fees will now be $100, or $80 for seniors who live outside the city. These are increases of about $65 and $50, respectively, compared to previous fees.

Phase 2 of South Lake Water Treatment Plant to come online in 2026

In June, the first phase of Georgetown’s South Lake Water Treatment Plant came online, adding 11 million gallons per day to Georgetown’s water supply.

Wolf Ranch developer brings second subdivision to the area

Wolf Ranch homebuilder Hillwood Communities broke ground on a new 200- acre subdivision, Melina, on December 16. The new 840-home development will be located near University Boulevard, County Road 110 and State Highway 130, in the southeast-most section of Georgetown’s extraterritorial jurisdiction.
