Georgetown City council ponders which grass is greener

The future layout for San Gabriel Park will include nine baseball diamonds, more than 15 soccer field configurations and two sand volleyball courts. The layout update represents the fourth phase of renovations at the park, which were presented to Georgetown City Council April 8.

Jarrell adds splash pad to growing subdivision

Jarrell officials approved the city’s third parkland during the April 15 city council meeting in a 3-2 vote, n a 3-2 vote, with Mayor Patrick Sherek casting the tie-breaking vote. Located in the Hunters Glen Subdivision, the 7.

City aims to improve drainage, sidewalks with county grants

The City of Georgetown will apply for a county grant with more than $1.2 million in projects listed to address development needs for low to moderate income residents.

Traffic study could lead to toll lanes along Ronald Reagan Boulevard

Williamson County Commissioners approved a resolution Tuesday, April 15, to have the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority conduct a traffic study along the Ronald Reagan Boulevard corridor.

Off-duty Georgetown firefighter dies in motorcycle crash

An off-duty Georgetown firefighter was involved in a fatal crash while driving Friday morning, April 11, on Highway 29 west of Wolf Ranch Parkway. The firefighter, Kurt Lentz, was taken by ambulance to Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital, where he died shortly before 10 a.m.

Grant could fund county tornado sirens

The cities of Granger and Weir are looking to the county to apply for federal grants that could bring tornado sirens to eastern Williamson County.

Williamson County completes framework for new headquarters

Williamson County officials commemorated the structural completion of the new county administration building Friday afternoon with a topping off ceremony.“The topping out ceremony celebrates a monumental moment in the construction of any building,”  Commissioner Valerie Covey said.
