Austin Jazz Society begins Georgetown Sunday Afternoon Concerts

The Austin Jazz Society will begin a series of Sunday afternoon concerts in Georgetown this month.

The first performance is set for this weekend at 2 p.m., Sunday, at Georgetown First Presbyterian Church, 703 South Church Street. It features the Kevin Lovejoy Trio, with Kevin Lovejoy on piano, Sam Pankey on bass and Daniel Dufour on drums.

The second concert will be November 13 and features the Peggy Stern Trio, with Peggy Stern on piano, Joey Colarusso on saxophone and Ryan Hagler on bass.

Tickets are $15 for individuals, $25 for families and free to students. Tickets are available at the door or online at www.austinjazzsociety.org.

The Austin Jazz Society is a nonprofit organization formed in 2003 to support all jazz genres and to increase awareness, appreciation and participation in the jazz community. The group presents educational programs, assists jazz artists and promotes performances.
