Greens Celebrate 75 Years

October 15, 2022 Jerry and Luetta Green of Sun City, Texas will have been married 75 years. Jerry and Luetta first met at the age of three when both their families had settled in eastern Colorado near Springfield. Years later they became high school sweethearts when their families were once again in the same town, Cortez, Colorado in western Colorado and the football team’s “right-half” caught Luetta’s eye. They were married shortly after graduation. Jerry took a job with an oil company before the birth of their second daughter, Kaylene, and retired seven moves and 35 years later as a geophysicist assistant. Ten years later Jerry retired the second time as a Geophysicist from a company in Michigan. After 10 moves living in six different states, having visited all 50 states and parts of Canada and Mexico, the Greens chose to move to Sun City where they have lived for 19 years.

July 30, 2022 it was the privilege of friends and family to celebrate Luetta’s 93rd birthday, the Greens 75th wedding anniversary and the 50th wedding anniversary of their second daughter and her husband. Guests attending came from 8 different states and included Luetta’s sister, Margie and their long time friend, Marguerite, both of whom attended the wedding 75 years ago. The Greens family includes four daughters, 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. A special thank you to those neighbors, friends, and family who joined in making the day so special.
