Georgetown ISD to hold Future Readiness Fair

After high school options can be explored at Georgetown ISD’s Future Readiness Fair, 6-8 p.m., October 25, at East View High School, 4490 East University Avenue.

The event is for students from East View, Georgetown and Richarte high schools.

At the event, college representatives will explain college options, the admissions process and funding possibilities. Career reps from area businesses and public service officers from law enforcement and fire science/ EMS will discuss opportunities, as will military reps from the different branches of service.

Free haircuts for GISD students

The Locker: Kids Helping Kids offers free haircuts for GISD students through its Boo-tiful You project. Haircuts are available 5-8 p.m., October 18, at East View High School.

50 Fellas Food Fest to help GISD Education Foundation

The 50 Fellas Food Fest brings together foodies and home chefs to raise money for the Georgetown ISD Education Foundation.

The event will be held October 22 at the Ride on Center for Kids, 2050 Rockride Lane.

Teams will enter culinary creations in one of three categories — appetizers, entrées or desserts. Guests can sample each and vote on their favorite.

Proceeds support the Georgetown ISD Education Foundation’s mission to engage the communityinfinancialsupport of district goals for students.
