Georgetown hair salon expands, adding new barbershop
New Images Hair Salon owner Kathy Arnold and her kids Steven, Shaina, Dante and Katie opened a new venture, Slava Barbershop, this past weekend.
Located next door to the hair salon at 3303 Williams Drive, the new barbershop offers classic cuts and hot towel shaves, as well as craft brews and cocktails on draft for customers.
“New Images Hair Salon and Barbershop has been in town for over three decades and we intend on continuing to keep this town looking sharp and beautiful,” Ms. Arnold said. “There is no way we would have been able to pull this off without the support of our loving family, our clients and this great city.”
A Georgetown native, Ms. Arnold opened New Images Hair Salon in 1992. The family business focuses on community and family values.
“Not a lot of folks are born and raised here nowadays, but we are locals, tried and true,” Ms. Arnold said. “We cherish the old school traditions of the barbershop and we are very proud to bring a piece of European craftsmanship with Texas flair to Williams Drive.”
She said the business’ hair artistry is inspired by European barbers like Schorem, Figaros and “Joy’s Birth” in Greece.
The shop’s decor and vibe is eclectic, but reflects the Slava Barbershop team’s personality.
“When you step into our shop it’s hard to tell whether you’ve just walked into a tattoo parlor, honky tonk, auto garage, dive bar, Cracker Barrel or skate shop,” Ms. Arnold said.
