Arts festival kicks off on South Main

Amie Gonser, a member of the Austin/Round Rock Plein Air Painters group, works on a painting along Ninth
Street during the inaugural South Main Arts Festival Saturday. Throughout the day there were vendors,
theatrical performances and musicians, plus entries in the painted rain barrel project and Yarn-Bombing,
crocheted pieces adorning trees, buildings and public fixtures.

Above, Yarn-Bombing added brightness to areas like Founder’s Park.
