Georgetown offices, facilities closed for Veterans Day

The City of Georgetown is closing select offices and facilities Friday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

Offices and facilities closing include:

• Airport Terminal, 500 Terminal Drive

• Animal Shelter, 110 Walden Drive

• Art Center, 816 South Main Street

• City Hall, 808 Martin Luther King Jr. Street

• Council and Courts Building (including Municipal Court), 510 West Ninth Street

• Georgetown Municipal Complex, 300-1 Industrial Avenue

• Grace Heritage Center, 817 South Main Street

• Parks and Recreation Administration, 1101 North College Street

• Planning Department, 809 Martin Luther King Jr. Street

• Public Library, 402 West Eighth Street. The library will be closed November 7- 10 for inventory.

 

• Public Safety Operations and Training Center, Police Records and Fire Support Services offices, 3500 D.B. Wood Road

• Recreation Center, 1003 North Austin Avenue

• Tennis Center, 400 Serenada Drive

• Visitors Center, 103 West Seventh Street While some closures are planned, the city will continue its normal GoGeo paratransit bus services, as well as its solid waste and recycling collection. Residents should place trash and recycling receptacles at the curb by 7 a.m. on their scheduled pickup day. Questions can be directed to the Texas Disposal Systems at 512-930-1715.

The city’s collection station, 250 W.L. Walden Drive, will also remain open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Veterans Day. Garey Park, located at 6450 Ranch to Market Road 2243, will also be open, with hours scheduled for 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. — Brigid Cooley
