Home For Christmas Sale November 19, 9 a.m.

St. John’s United Methodist Church will be having its second annual “Come Home for Christmas” event. There will be a bake sale, crafts, a silent auction, frozen casseroles (King Ranch chicken, chicken spaghetti, cornbread dressing) and other holiday items for sale. A kid’s coffee shop with pastries, coffee and tea will raise money for mission projects. The event will be held at St. John’s UMC Family Life Center, 311 East University.

Georgetown Community Thanksgiving November 24 Georgetown’s Community Thanksgiving is coming back the first time since 2019. The dinner will be held on Thanksgiving Day, November 24. The sit-down meal will be free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Georgetown Community Center, 445 East Morrow Street, in San Gabriel Park. Meals can also be delivered to homebound residents. Previous dinners have served up to 500 guests.

Fleet Feet Turkey Trot November 24 The sixth-annual Fleet Feet Turkey Trot 5k in Round Rock will take place November 24, Thanksgiving morning. The race starts from the Dell Diamond parking lot at 3400 East Palm Valley Boulevard, Round Rock, and goes through Old Settlers Park. The event includes an untimed 2-mile and 5-mile run and walk. The family-friendly event welcomes strollers and leashed pets to join in the fun. Proceeds will be shared between The Round Rock Serving Center, Operation Blue Santa and the Play for All Abilities Park. Registration is $20, with children under 10 able to participate for free. www. fleetfeet.com/s/roundrock/races Sweet Eats Christmas Festival November 25- December 31 Sweet Eats Fruit Farm becomes a winter wonderland starting November 25, and will keep the doors open for Santa and his reindeer though New Year’s Eve. The winter wonderland includes a giant gingerbread house, pictures with Santa and live reindeer, as well as numerous games and holiday activities. They are located at 14400 State Highway 29 and are open from 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.

Shop Small Saturday on the Square November 26 Georgetown merchants will be opening their doors to shoppers during the annual Small Business Saturday November 26. Participants and visitors are encouraged to support a small business by shopping locally this season. Participating retailers and restaurants will have specials available. Art-based businesses will have unique offerings perfect for gifting to friends and family. A kick-off event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Georgetown Visitors Center. This event is a program of the Georgetown Main Street Program, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown Georgetown Association. The weekend will also include an opportunity to support local artists with Artist Sunday, November 27.

Southwestern Candlelight Service December 1 For over 100 years, Southwestern University has hosted the Candlelight Service in their Lois Perkins Chapel. There are two identical services at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on December 1. The service celebrates Advent and the Christmas season. The Season of Advent, which begins the Christian year, is the four weeks prior to the celebration of Christmas and marks the season of anticipation and preparation. Candlelight services are free and open to the public.

Christmas Stroll December 2-3 The magic is real and memories are waiting to be made December 2-3. The 41st annual Georgetown Christmas Stroll takes place downtown with dozens of vendors. Visitors can also tour the Bethlehem Village, enjoy live entertainment on two stages and get their photos taken with Santa.

Kiwanis Club Home Tour December 2-4 The Kiwanis Club of Sun City Georgetown has opened ticket sales for their annual Holiday Home Tour. Five Sun City homes will be decked out in Christmas and holiday garb by homeowners and professional decorators. Tours take place over three days: 3-6 p.m., December 2; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., December 3; and from noon to 4 p.m., December 4. Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance and $20 if purchased during the tour. Tickets are being sold by Kiwanis Club members and at the Sun City Community Association Center at 2 Texas Drive.

Youth Fishing Derby December 3, 8 a.m.

Georgetown Parks and Recreation will host a Youth Fishing Derby for children 12 and younger Saturday, December 3. This family- friendly event takes place from 8-10 a.m. in San Gabriel Park. Admission into the derby is $5 per child. Spectators are invited to watch. Advanced registration is required and is limited to 100 spots. Any trout caught wins a prize, while prizes last. ROCK Carriage Rides December 8-18 Back again this year, visitors to the Square in December can enjoy a ride in an illuminated carriage pulled by a snow-white horse. Carriage rides are a winter program of Ride on Center for Kids using Fantasia Carriage. Tickets will go on sale through ROCK in November. This event sold out last year at 62 rides. The dates available are December 8, 9, 15, 16, 17 and 18.

Breakfast With Santa December 17 Breakfast with Santa is the Rotary Club of Georgetown’s signature service project 22 years running. They provide out-reach to help make Christmas special for kids and families in the community by serving breakfast. This year, the Georgetown Fire Department will fire up the griddles to cook pancakes and sausage starting at 7:30 a.m. through 11 a.m. on December 17 at the San Gabriel Community Center. Children can visit with firefighters and have a free picture taken with Santa. Tickets are $6 per person and can be purchased the day of the event at the door or in advance. Children 12 and younger are free with a paid adult.

Witch November 11-13, 18-20

A devil visits the small village of Edmonton, offering a select few people an opportunity to sell their souls in exchange for a wish. While some people are willing to sell their souls quickly, Elizabeth, the town outcast and “witch,” has a few more reservations. This dark comedy, inspired by the 1621 play The Witch of Edmonton, weighs the odds between happiness and self-worth in a world that seems void of hope. This is a Southwestern University production at the Jesse H. and Mary Gibbs Jones Theater.

Holiday Inn November 18 - December 30 Based on the classic movie starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, this musical combines holiday magic with a heartfelt story set in the 1940s. Music by Irving Berlin features classic songs such as “White Christmas.” Performances take place on the Springer Stage.

A Tuna Christmas December 2 - December 30 Residents of Tuna, Texas, host their annual Christmas Yard Display Contest and get into hoards of holiday shenanigans in this lighthearted comedy. The production is held at the Palace Playhouse.
