Church of the Nazarene

The annual Christmas Stroll on the Square includes the Bethlehem Village presented by the Church of the Nazarene. The village is more than a nativity. The live display gives you a window into ordinary lives at the time of Jesus’ birth. It will include a bakery, carpentry shop, dye shop, fish net shop, grain mill, innkeeper, market, perfume shop, pottery shop, prayer tent and toy shop.

Antioch Georgetown

Antioch volunteers will provide the next step in Operation Christmas Child shoebox collections by working at the DFW Processing Center beginning November 26.

Karen Coombes is coordinating the volunteer opportunities at the processing center in Coppell, near Dallas:

• Saturday, November 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3-5 p.m.

• Monday, December 5 from 3-7 p.m.

• Tuesday, December 6 from 1-5 p.m. Samaritan’s Purse is the organization that runs Operation Christmas Child. These shoeboxes have impacted the lives of many children and adults both as recipients and givers. Now, volunteers are needed to process these boxes and prepare them for international travel.

The church’s Thanksgiving dinner is 6-8 p.m., November 27, at the Georgetown Community Center, 445 East Morrow Street. The meal is potluck style. Everyone is asked to bring a favorite Thanksgiving side dish or dessert. The church is providing meats and drinks.

Hanging of the Green service is 6 p.m., Sunday, November 27, in the historic sanctuary, 1001 South Main.

St. John UMC

Hanging of the Green service is 5 p.m., Sunday, November 27.

There is no Wesley Value Meal on November 23. The menu for Wednesday, November 30, is beef stew, corn bread and crackers in the Family Life Center. Serving begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m.

Faith Lutheran

The annual poinsettia sale is 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Sunday, November 27. Advent Supper is 5:30 p.m., Thursday, December 1, with the Advent Devotion following at 6:30 p.m. in the Activity Center, 4010 Williams Drive.

First Baptist

The Generations Ministry for adults ages 55 plus will enjoy dinner and sunset at The Oasis, 3:30-8 p.m., Thursday, December 1. Call 512-869-2586 for more details.

The Children’s Christmas Musical featuring students from first to fifth grades will perform the musical, On Our Way to Bethlehem on December 4 during the 11:10 a.m. service in the sanctuary and again at the 4 p.m. service at The Wesleyan at Estrella. The Worship Place
