The Worship Place gives back

Groups collect over 1,300 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child

Members of The Worship Place this year have collected and packed more than 1,300 shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child program.

The program collects shoeboxes filled with gifts such as toys, school supplies and hygiene items for children in need across the world.

A group of volunteers Thursday, November 17, loaded the 1,354 boxes into a vehicle and dropped them off at Community Bible Church in Weir, a designated collection site for the program. The Stacy Group, located in Sun City, donates their moving truck to move the items.

In 2019, TWP decided to increase their support of this mission and switched to year-round ministry collections, which has steadily increased the number of shoeboxes they deliver and led to the church collecting one of the largest numbers of boxes in the county.

The Worship Place is an interdenominational church with two campuses, 811 Sun City Boulevard and 375 County Road 245.
