Georgetown offers free meal on Thanksgiving
The City of Georgetown will serve a free sit-down meal on a first-come, first-served basis Thursday, November 24.
Georgetown’s Community Thanksgiving will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Georgetown Community Center, 445 East Morrow Street, in San Gabriel Park.
Meals can also be delivered to homebound residents.
Previously an annual tradition, this is the first time the city is hosting the community meal since 2019, canceling events in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
Dinner will include Thanksgiving classics such as turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, rolls and sweet potatoes. Water and tea will also be available.
The event is supported by the Georgetown Police and Fire Departments, the Beard Club, Sonic, Jimmy Vega Smokehouse and GW Pyro.
