Taylor honors hometown Olympian Fred Kerley with mural
Mural unveiling event scheduled for February 4
Adam Davenport poses for a photo on Thursday, January 19, with the mural he's painting of World 100 Meter champion and Olympics Silver medalist Fred Kerley, a Taylor native. The mural is being painted on the Ford Ground Storage Tank at 1606 North Main Street, Taylor. Mr. Davenport says he has about ten days of work to complete the project. At age 27, Taylor native Fred Kerley has certainly made his mark on the world as a track and field star.
He earned a silver medal in the 100 meter dash at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and claimed the gold in the same race during the 2022 World Championships, making himself known as the fastest man in the world.
