Chandra Lynn Monsees
Chandra Lynn Monsees, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully with her parents by her side at the young age of 39 at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, on February 8, 2024.
Chandra was born in India on November 24, 1984. She was escorted from India to the United States and arrived in Austin, Texas, on July 16, 1985, and was welcomed by her adoptive parents Leonard and Jill Monsees (Hochtritt), of Georgetown, Texas, (formerly of Austin, Texas, and Wausau, Wisconson). Chandra was a 2003 graduate of Georgetown High School.
Without question, Chandra’s three beautiful children - Jacob, Brianna and Kendall were the loves of her life. They meant the world to her. She was committed to them and raised them with a protected love that developed a strong family bond between them. Her children will continue this bond with each other. She taught them to be respectful, kind, honest and to do the right things in life. She was proud of them and loved them unconditionally with all her heart.
She first worked with the elderly in healthcare, but the love of children brought her into the childcare field. Teaching was her passion and she loved being able to prepare the kids in her classroom for their future. She always showed each child love, patience and was attentive and mindful of every child’s individual needs.
Whenever she could, Chandra loved spending time at the beach in Port-A or Galveston with her children, friends, parents and her dog “Minnie.” The beach was her happy place!
Those who were privileged to know Chandra would describe her in many ways: caring, happy, thoughtful, kind, genuine, authentic, heart of gold, beautiful, loving, biggest heart, second mom to children’s friends, best person to go to for advice, electrifying - any room she entered got louder and more vibrant, always on the move, knew how to have fun, devoted to her children, great mother and daughter, sympathetic, compassionate, always beaming with her smile and laugh, impactful caregiver to the vulnerable, the elderly and children…just to name a few.
Chandra was taken from us too soon and will be deeply missed by her family. She leaves behind her three children - Jacob, Brianna and Kendall and her parents - Leonard and Jill. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles and cousins in Wisconsin and Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and an aunt.
The family would like to thank Chandra’s close friends and their families for being there for Chandra and family during these past three difficult months of her life. Also, the family is thankful for the long-distance support they received from family in Wisconsin and Tennessee. Finally, the family thanks the staff and doctors at St. David’s Hospital Georgetown, Baylor Scott and White Hospital Round Rock and the University Hospital San Antonio for their support, kindness and care they provided Chandra during her stay.
Rest in peace, dear Chandra…you will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts.
At Chandra’s request, there will be no service. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
