Housing, rent costs show affordability woes in G’town

In the aftermath of the housing price surge seen in Central Texas 2020- 2021, housing prices in the Georgetown area have started to settle. However, with high interest rates, mortgages are still a hurdle, especially for first-time home buyers.
In June 2024, the median sales prices for single-family homes in Williamson County was $434,000 according to the Austin Board of Realtors.
