Business Briefs: GreenPal app expands to Georgetown, Kalahari partners with Dell Children’s to create ‘Calming Room’
Kalahari partners with Dell Children’s to create ‘Calming Room’
Kalahari Resorts and Conventions, 3001 Kalahari Boulevard, Round Rock, has partnered with Dell Children’s Medical Center to create a “Calming Room” at the resort. The Calming Room provides a soothing space for guests to decompress. It has activities, books, fidget toys and headphones as well as comfortable seatings. The room was designed with those who experience overstimulation in chaotic environments, such as those on the autistic spectrum.
"A significant number of children and adults experience sensory overload at times," said Adam Messer, president of Dell Children’s. “When this occurs, they need a dedicated place to relax and decompress. Creating this calming room in collaboration with Kalahari Resorts is another example of Dell Children's working together with families to help children live safe, healthy and happy lives.”

GreenPal lawn care app expands to Georgetown
The GreenPal app has expanded its services to include Georgetown. GreenPal connects homeowners with landscapers and other professional lawn care professionals. Homeowners upload the service they desire and the date they need it done by. The service providers give them an estimate based on Google Street images and information that the homeowner provides. Homeowners can make an appointment with a professional in the app. Once the service has been completed the contractor will send time-stamped photos. GreenPal is based in Nashville and has since expanded to cities across the United States.
“After successfully launching in 250 other markets, we are excited to help homeowners in Georgetown find reliable, safe and local lawn care,” said co-founder Gene Caballero.
